Duct Tape Pumpkin
Halloween decorations are always so fun and I have made lots in the past, but my decor is sadly lacking in pumpkins. While aimlessly perusing Michaels by myself one day (i.e. escaping my children), I stumbled across a small shelf of plain paper mache pumpkins (literally....I stumbled and ran my cart into it). With a 40% off coupon burning a hole in my wallet, I bought it with visions of fabric and Mod Podge dancing in my head. But fate intervened before I could buy Halloween-y fabric, when there was a stray roll of Halloween Duct Tape, on Clearance no less, randomly thrown in with some school supplies at Target. Thus, my Duct Tape Pumpkin was born:

What You Need:
Now this is the really hard part. Be sure to pay close attention:
- Cut strips of Duct Tape and cover the pumpkin with it (stick strips on vertically).
- Paint the stem black. Once dry, paint on some glitter glue to give it a little sparkle.
- Done. Very complex, isn't it?

If you take just one disposable plastic baggie to work or school each day, that’s 250 going into landfills every year. Not to mention all the CO2 that goes into our air from manufacturing them. One Snackaby can replace all those baggies, which means less plastic in our landfills and less CO2 in our air.

Fall Wreath Revisited
Last Fall, I made my first wreath and I loved how it turned out. I just finished up a Halloween wreath that I will be sharing over at One Artsy Mama in the near future, and am feeling in the wreath mode. Since Projects from Falls Past seem to popping up all over blog-land, I thought I'd re-post this one. Happy Fall!
What You Need:
Note: I wasn't exactly sure how I was going to design this wreath before I started, so not everything shown in picture was actually used.
How to Make It:
Use hot glue to adhere felt flowers to wreath.
Add fall-colored floral pick.
Tie coordinating ribbon around top so wreath can be hung.
What You Need:
- Styrofoam Wreath Form
- Burlap (1 yard)
- Felt in Various Colors for Flowers
- Hot Glue Gun
- Fall Picks
- Ribbon
- Needle and Thread
- "Naturally" Covered Floral Wire
Note: I wasn't exactly sure how I was going to design this wreath before I started, so not everything shown in picture was actually used.
How to Make It:
- Cut burlap into strips 4-5" wide. Hot glue end of one strip to back of wreath and wrap around form. When you reach end of strip, glue it down. Repeat until entire wreath is covered.
- Glue one end of covered floral wire to back of wreath and wrap around at a diagonal until you've made it all the way around. Glue other end to wreath. Ribbon can be used instead if you prefer.
- Make felt flowers: Cut sheet of craft felt into strips about 2" wide. Fold in half lengthwise and sew ends together (lengthwise). Next take scissors and cut slits from top about three quarters of the way down to the seam all the way down the length of the felt (can change the look of the petals by either cutting at a diagonal or straight down). Starting at one end, tightly roll the felt up. Once rolled completely, stick threaded needle all the way through the bottom layers of felt to sew them together.
