Felt Cone Christmas Trees

Last week I got together with some of my girlfriends and had a fun craft night. We decided to get some styrofoam cones and transform them into Christmas trees using various fabrics, ribbon, beads, etc. This is what I created:

What You Need:

• Styrofoam trees in various sizes
• Felt
• Ribbon
• Glue

How To Make It:

• Cut felt strips - one straight edged and the others with the bottom edge scalloped - enough to cover tree.
• Glue straight strip to bottom first, then layer over with the scalloped edge felt strips until you reach the top.
• Cut a circle of felt and glue to top of cone.
• Decorate using felt flowers, ribbon rosettes, beads, etc.

These trees turned out really cute and were super simple to make!

Cheerios Christmas Trees

When I was a little girl, I remember my Mom making these super cute Cheerios Christmas Tree treats for me to take into school and share with my class. Now I am the Mom and I knew these would be a big hit in my son's Kindergarten class this holiday season.

Cheerios Christmas Trees

Ingredients:

• 6 cups of Cheerios (can use regular or honey nut)
• 4 1/2 Cups Mini Marshmallows
• 6 T Salted Butter
• Green Food Coloring
• Gumdrops
• Cooking Oil Spray

Directions:

• In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and marshmallows over low heat, stirring constantly, until fully melted and smooth.
• Add green food coloring until desired shade is reached.
• Place Cheerios cereal in a bowl and add the marshmallow mixture, stirring until all the cereal is thoroughly coated.
• Place a sheet of parchment or wax paper on a cookie sheet.
• Spray your hands with the cooking oil and take a handful of the Cheerios mixture and form into a Christmas tree shape. Be sure to press it firmly together so the tree doesn't collapse.
• When you are finished forming each tree, set it on the cookie sheet.
• Once all of your trees are formed, slice your gumdrops and just stick the little circles on the trees as ornaments.
• Place the trees in the refrigerator to set for about an hour, then take them out and cover them up until they are ready to be served!

Christmas Light Canvas

I love how cozy the house feels with the Christmas tree lit up in the evening and decided I needed a little bit more festive lighting in the house.

What You Need:

• 16" x 20" x 1" Canvas (you need the depth to contain the string of lights behind canvas)
• String of Christmas Lights (I had plug-in ones, but battery-operated lights would be good here)
• Awl

How To Make It:

• Use pencil to make marks on canvas where you'll want your lights to come through. I just did random starburst shapes. Be sure to count the marks to make sure you have enough lights.
• Use an awl to poke through canvas and make holes for each bulb to go through.



•  Insert a bulb into each hole and secure with glue (I used a small dab of hot glue). Be sure to keep in mind where the plug end will be if not using battery-operated lights.
• You may need to secure the string between the lights to the back of the canvas so it doesn't stick out so far that you can't hang it on a wall.

Christmas Magnet Board

I got asked to help make crafts for my son's school. I was so excited to help! A few girlfriends and I got together to make magnet boards for the school. Friends and crafts together always make a great time!!! I love how they came out!

What You Need:

• Mod Podge
• Tin Sign (Got mine at the Dollar Store)
• Foam Brush
• Scrapbook Paper
• Glass Beads
• Clear, Flat-Backed Glass Marbles
• Magnets

How To Make It:

• Cut Scrapbook paper about 1/2 inch larger than tin so you could wrap around tin.
• Once paper is cut, brush mod podge on tin.

• Center paper on to tin and press down. Then smooth paper to make sure you seal bubbles. 

• Once dry, turn it over and mod podge excess paper onto the back of the tin. Do 2 opposite sides first. Once that is dry, do the other 2 sides.

• Follow these instructions to make the Scrapbook Magnets with the same paper used for tin.

• When everything is dry, place it on a frame stand or hang it on your wall!
